2. Information We Collect
2.1 Non-Personally Identifiable Information (NPI)
Duckchat collects a limited amount of information that doesn't directly identify you. This includes:
- IP Address: We use your IP address to approximate your location and display your connected stranger's general region. This enhances the experience by providing a sense of geographic connection.
- Usage Data: We collect information about your interactions with Duckchat to improve our platform. We also use session recording APIs to track user behaviour. This may include information about the features you use, the time you spend using them, your interactions with other users and your device type.

Duckchat allows you to create an anonymous profile with the following elements:

Duckchat does not collect any personal information that can be used to directly identify you. This includes your name, email address, phone number, physical address, social security number, or any other data linked to your real identity.
4. How We Use Your Information

6. Data Retention and Storage
Duckchat prioritizes ephemeral communication. Here's how we manage data storage:
- Chat Logs and Media: All chat conversations and any media shared within them are stored solely in memory. Once you disconnect from a chat, this data is immediately destroyed. This ensures no permanent record of your conversations is maintained.
- User Profiles: Information in your anonymous profile (avatar, username, occupation, bio) is also stored in memory and deleted upon disconnection.
- Aggregated Data: We may retain anonymized and aggregated data for long-term analytics purposes. However, this data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

Duckchat empowers you to manage your privacy:
- Anonymous Profile Customization: You can create and personalize your anonymous profile with avatars, usernames, and descriptions while maintaining complete anonymity.
